Building a Pastoral or Leadership Team
Healthy churches tend to have developed leadership teams in which the pastor is generally recognized as key visionary leader, but where the complementary gifts and capacities of other men and women are released in specific roles for the benefit of Christ's Body. Effective leadership teams normally give time to team building and nurture as well focussing on the visionary task. It is often helpful to assess the life and function of the team or to enhance its effectiveness by the process of formal review. External facilitation is frequently beneficial for this purpose and for ensuring fresh insight and objective input to strengthen the team.
Further information and assistance may be obtained from the Superintendent, who will recommend relevant workshop materials and/or appropriately trained personnel to assist in team development.
